Ingredients:
- 2 to 3 pounds of pork spare ribs
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1/2 cup of tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup of molasses
- 1 tablespoon of liquid smoke (optional)
Instructions:
- Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, cumin, and dried thyme.
- In a small bowl, mix together the tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, molasses, and liquid smoke (if using).
- Place the ribs in a large, shallow dish and pour the sauce over the top, making sure to coat both sides of the ribs. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat your barbecue grill to medium-low heat (about 325°F to 350°F).
- Place the ribs on the grill, meat side up, and close the lid. Cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours, turning the ribs every 30 minutes and brushing with additional sauce, until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.
- Serve with your favorite barbecue sauce on the side.
Enjoy your delicious barbecue spare ribs!
